Team Building Through Improvisation
COMMUNICATION, COOPERATION, COLLABORATION
McLaughlin Creative Services offers ½ and 1-day custom
team building programs led by Bill McLaughlin himself.
Mr. McLaughlin studied improvisational comedy at Chicago’s
Second City theatre with the legendary Del Close. He performed,
wrote, taught, directed, and was one of the founding members
of the Chicago City Limits, New York City’s longest
running Improv & sketch comey troupe. He later joined
New York’s First Amendment Improv Company (Bruce Willis,
Kathy Kinney, and Bill‘s former student, John Leguizamo),
serving in much the same capacity. After spreading comedy
around the globe, including stints as the Sports Historian
for ESPN Extreme Games, appearances on BBC Radio, Fox TV,
Nickelodeon, A&E, HBO and countless corporate events,
he taught and directed shows at Caroline’s on Broadway
for the Manhattan Comedy School and currently conducts classes
at Wickline Casting in Philadelphia and Bucks County Community
College.
We call our program:
WHOSE BOTTOM LINE IS IT ANYWAY?
If you are a fan of the popular television show, “Whose
Line Is It Anyway”, you know that improvisational comedy
is fun, but you may not be aware that the techniques for improvisational
performance require the same principles necessary for team
or group driven success!
TRAINING FOCUS:
Cooperation/teamwork
Brainstorming
Listening
Risk Taking
Commitment
Group Goal Awareness
Creative thinking
Active Choices
Improvisational training emphasizes the goal of the group
or team. An improviser’s first responsibility is to
‘make their partner look good’, and commit their
efforts to putting the success of the group first. Improv
workshops create an environment in which participants are
free to take creative risks in order to learn from their success
and recognize mistakes.
ABOUT TEAM BUILDING THROUGH IMPROVISATION
Improvisational skills help people think outside the box.
Our workshops will enhance the ability of individuals to think
on their feet and take command of the moment, a must for strong
presentation and communication skills.
Improvisational requirements of communication, cooperation
and collaboration teaches a team to develop and exploit their
Collective Intellect. Improvisational training will help develop
a sense of spontaneity and take creativity to new heights.
